Clients sometimes arrive over-prepared — carrying every document related to cryptocurrency they have ever printed — or under-prepared, forgetting a secondary backup they intended to verify. This guide reflects what we actually need for a productive half-day audit.
Bring
- Your hardware wallet, fully charged, with cable
- All backup copies you want verified in this session (paper, metal, or both)
- Your existing custody log, if you have one from a prior visit
- Reading glasses, if you use them for small text
- A list of questions written in advance (reduces session time spent on recall)
Leave at Home
- Laptops or tablets (not needed; our office has no networked machines in the session room)
- Exchanges printouts with account passwords
- Unrelated financial documents
- Additional hardware wallets you do not plan to verify today
Transporting Materials
Use opaque envelopes or cases. Avoid branded cryptocurrency packaging that identifies contents. If travelling by public transit, keep materials in an inner pocket rather than an outer bag compartment.
Do not photograph backups in transit. Do not enter words into phone notes apps for “convenience.”
When You Arrive
We provide a lockbox for your phone during the verification portion. Sessions run in a private room on the eleventh floor. Allow ten minutes for intake before verification begins.
If you are verifying a passphrase-protected wallet, inform us during booking so we allocate sufficient time — passphrase verification adds approximately forty-five minutes.
